BENJAMIN FREELAND
President
Ben is a highly accomplished construction professional with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He began his career as a laborer and worked his way up to become a carpenter, superintendent, estimator, project manager, and sales professional. Eventually, he founded his own construction company, IMPACT General, and now serves as its president.
Born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, Ben has always had a passion for building and construction. He takes great pride in providing exceptional customer service and fostering strong client relationships. Ben understands the importance of communication in the construction industry and makes it a top priority in all of his projects. Despite his success, Ben remains humble and committed to providing his clients with the highest quality work and service. Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and three children when he's not working. He also enjoys playing pool, golfing, and spending time on the lake.


KEVIN CUTTS
Director of Construction
Kevin has over a decade of experience in construction project management. Prior to joining IMPACT General, his career path included the positions of project superintendent, project manager, and senior project manager in Southeast Wisconsin. As the Director of Construction, Kevin oversees the execution of all construction activities for all projects built by IMPACT General.
Kevin is passionate about construction and seeing a project transformed from a set of plans into a new space for our clients. He understands that each successful project requires clear communication, a comprehensive plan to complete the project, and collaboration between the subcontractors and the client to bring that client’s vision to fruition.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams, playing softball and tennis, and spending time with his wife, four kids, and dog.
ABBY SCHNEIDER
Office Manager
Abby has been involved in construction since 2019 and joined IMPACT General in May 2022. As our office manager, Abby wears many hats, including handling HR and executive assistant functions, such as contract support and answering and screening calls. She’s the go-to person for all office needs, and her ability to multitask and organize makes her an essential part of the team. Abby is flexible and enthusiastic, making her an excellent fit for the fast-paced nature of the industry. Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending time with her loved ones, whether taking her dogs for a walk, planning a weekend getaway with friends, or simply spending time with family.


ERIC J NEUMANN
Senior Project Consultant
Eric comes to IMPACT General with 33 years of design-build experience, having completed more than 300 projects totaling over $600M and 10M square feet of Industrial, Commercial, Retail, Office, Medical, Multi-Family, and Religious facilities in that span. His role includes providing overall project leadership, sales, estimating, due diligence planning, project management, value engineering, and local approval work.
A 1990 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Eric has a degree in structural engineering and construction management. Eric’s passion is finding the right construction solutions for his customers to ensure the success of each project. His experience in all facets of the design-build process, from your idea to your completed project, helps you know that all options and solutions are being considered and implemented after your project details are known.
Eric is married with five adult children and resides in Franklin, WI. He is an avid lover of anything outdoors. His interests include boating, UTV’ing, snowmobiling, fishing, hiking, mountain biking. Eric enjoys doing exterior projects at his home, cabin, and newly completed Pond and Woods. Eric’s other passions include cooking, BBQ and grilling, as well as creating and trying new recipes. He enjoys all types of music and spending quality time with family and friends. His hobbies provide him with the escape needed to maintain his elevated level of passion and commitment to your project.
FRED CARLSON
Senior Designer/Sales
Fred brings nearly 50 years' worth of construction expertise to every project he works on. An entrepreneur at heart, he can relate to the small business owners he serves. Fred is always up for a unique building challenge and shares in the excitement of a new project. Ask him about anything related to building, and he has something valuable to add to the conversation, always bringing thoughtful questions and innovative answers to the table. MIKE FERKANS
Project Superintendent
Mike Ferkans has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Mike entered the construction industry as a carpenter and transitioned into the Project Superintendent role. As a Project Superintendent, he coordinates all activities on his project sites and oversees the work completed by subcontractors. Mike also has daily contact with the owners of the projects.
Mike is extremely passionate about seeing a project completed on time and within budget. With experience in small and large projects, he understands that every project is essential to the client. In his free time, Mike likes to spend time up north with his kids snowmobiling and boating.
JENNY FREELAND
Marketing Director
Jenny is often working behind the scenes for IMPACT General to develop and expand the company's presence in the community and online. She's also a full-time video editor for a local media company. Jenny is a 2007 graduate of Concordia University with a B.A. degree in communications and a minor in marketing. In her spare time, Jenny is a CrossFit enthusiast and participates in the occasional 5K race for a challenge. She also enjoys relaxing on the lake in summer and making memories with family and friends.
